Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. held its second annual bloodletting activity “Ready, Set, Give” on January 30, 2009 at the Phoenix Bulk Depot in Lanang, Davao City. The Give Blood - Gift of Life project was held in coordination with the Philippine National Red Cross.
The 26 blood donors were led by PPPI President and CEO Dennis Uy. Nineteen Phoenix staff donated blood, while two were from Phoenix holding company UDENNA. Three teachers from Vicente Hizon Elementary School also donated blood.
In total, Phoenix donated 10,800 cc of blood, a marked increase from last year’s donation of 8,550 cc.
The medical screening was conducted by PPPI company doctor Dr. Anthony Tesoro and the medical team of Red Cross.
