The first outreach program sponsored by Phoenix Petroleum and UDENNA Foundation was held the whole day of December 22, 2007. The feeding program was coordinated with the Office of Davao City Vice Mayor Sara Duterte, who also graced the event.
Close to a thousand natives (lumads) came to Matina Aplaya Elementary School, with about 700 adults and 300 children. Present too were local barangay officials and members of the Phoenix team.
Adult lumads received gift packs containing rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee and sugar, while children received toys and goodies. For lunch they ate congee, hardboiled eggs, and juice.
The beneficiaries also performed dance numbers and joined parlor games.
